Cyrus Sound - Founded in 1981 by Cy Anderson


Founded in 1981 by Cy Anderson, Cyrus Sound is a full-service digital and analog recording and production studio specializing in audio post-production and analog tape transfers to digital files. Our goal is to provide the most professional sound and recording services.

Located in Bethel Park, PA, south of Pittsburgh, Cyrus Sound serves as the company name for all of Cy's freelance work. Cy Anderson, the principal of Cyrus Sound, began playing guitar at the age of 10 and has played all styles of music and toured the United States as a professional musician; with 4 solo albums available online from most popular music services (iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, YouTube, Spotify, etc.-just search "Cy Anderson")

Cy is currently an adjunct professor at Point Park University in the Cinema Arts program, and also teaches sound for film at La Roche University and he also taught at Pittsburgh Technical College. He was a full-time Assistant Professor in Digital Filmmaking and Video Production at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh for over 20 years, and he was formerly Audio Production Engineer for WPGH-TV and also WPXI-TV in Pittsburgh.

He is a member of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE), the Audio Engineering Society (AES) and a member of the University Film and Video Association (UFVA). Cy has a B.S. from Penn State, and an M.S.Ed from Duquesne University in Instructional Technology.

Cy did tech work as a house engineer (monitors, FOH and video) at Pepsi Roadhouse in Burgettstown PA. until 2010. The Roadhouse was nominated for a Country Music Association award in 2005 as one of the top 5 country venues in the U.S. Over the years, Cy mixed monitors for Josh Turner, Loretta Lynn, Dierks Bentley, Poco, Josh Gracin, The Georgia Satellites, Atlanta Rhythm Section, The Four Tops, Bobby Blue Bland, Great White, Warrant, Eric Gales, Indigenous and many other acts, national and local. He also ran video for many shows; Kenny Rogers and Little River Band, to name just a few.

From 2021- 2024, Cy was a re-recording mixer for Hearst Television doing post for their "Very Local" streaming network, and he has mixed many shows for the network, as well as doing dialog and effects mixing and editing.

Transfer Rates

Flat rates for Tape transfers (reels, cassettes, DAT)

Tape transfers (reels, cassettes, DAT) are $30 per hour, minimum $60 order. Record transfers are similar, but albums are generally $50 Any post production and editing is $50 per hour: CD's are $5 each, Flash drives are $10. Everything backed up to either Google Drive or Dropbox.

Except as otherwise stated in this Privacy Policy, we do not sell, trade, rent or otherwise share for marketing purposes your Personal Information with third parties without your consent.

We maybe share Personal Information and User Content with vendors who are performing services for CyrusSound®, (such as the servers for our email communications who are provided access to user's email address for purposes of sending emails from us; authentication systems, and fraud detection). We may share Personal Information such as your name, billing address, and credit card number with vendors who assist us with payment processing. Our vendors are contractually obligated to use your Personal Information only at our direction and in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

In general, the Personal Information you provide to us is used to help us communicate with you. For example, we use Personal Information to contact users in response to questions, solicit feedback from users, provide technical support, and inform users about promotional offers.

CyrusSound® will offer individuals the opportunity to choose (opt out) whether their personal information is to be used for any purpose other than what it was collected for.

We also may be required to disclose an individual's personal information in response to a lawful request by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements. Security

CyrusSound® uses 3rd party services to store user information.

These 3rd parties protect your information from potential security breaches by implementing certain technological security measures including encryption, firewalls and secure socket layer technology.

However, the measures by 3rd parties do not guarantee that your information will not be accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed by breach of such firewalls and secure server software. In addition, while we take reasonable measure to ensure that other entities who provide us with services keep your information confidential and secure, such entities' practices are ultimately beyond our control. By using our Website, you acknowledge that you understand and agree to assume these risks.

Access

CyrusSound® acknowledges the individual's right to access their data and will allow individuals to access their personal information. Further, CyrusSound® will allow the individual to correct, update, or delete information.
